“Commitment leads to action. Action brings your dream closer.”
– Marica Wieder
How do you navigate, let alone stay committed to your health, given the overload of well-intended lifestyle and health information that is available on every platform, 24/7?
With so much to sort and sift through, information overload can place a stronghold on our best intentions for staying committed to a healthy lifestyle.
Thankfully this doesn’t need to be our lifestyle status quo. You, (yes you!) already have what you need within your beautiful body and spirit to taste and see health on your terms!
Give yourself permission to cut through all the noise by using your intuition.
That’s right, you and I each have a trusty guide that does serve our best interest. It’s our personal compass that is always present and ready. With so much happening in our day to day lives, pausing to listen can be a struggle, however, with a little fine tuning, this can be easily accessed.
Before reading further, take a moment to interact with your body, mind, and spirit in stillness. Breathe in slowly then exhale softly continuing this breath for three rounds. Give your overactive mind a pleasant reset with this simple exercise. From this place, now take your time while exploring the tips below.
1. Make Personal Progress in Steps
The easiest way to owning commitment is done slowly over time via progression. Think of seeing and feeling progress by way of a thoughtful slower progression. Use little wins to curate conscientious commitment. With a little win in place continue to add on according to your game plan. Getting there is the journey that cultivates commitment!
2. Schedule Quiet Time
What may look like inactivity is indeed transformational. When we give ourselves permission to be still and silent, we reset our brain functions which allows for repair and growth. Silence connects us to our intuitive inner wisdom. In this space finding and owning personal commitment becomes easy and natural.
3. Create A Personal Mantra.
Studies show using intimate words and statements as mantra and affirmation personally support, inspire and manifest your dreams. Read or spoken with love these are empowering and keep in place your commitment and focus!
4. Craft A Healthy Vision Board
Creating a personal vision board and a vision statement using pictures, colors, words and anything else that has meaning to you is a great way to both inspire, encourage and motivate you to stay on track!
5. Self-Talk Awareness.
Notice your self-talk. How do you speak about what it is you want to do, be, and become as a healthy woman? Is this positive and supportive or is it self-deprecating. Your self-talk will either pave the way for you to be you or it will sideline your efforts. If your self-talk is less than regarding what you want, change this up with an affirming word or phrase such as, “I am going to” or “I want to,” versus “if” and “maybe.” Own it with love!
6. Partner Up with Your Tribe.
Let your tribe of one or many know what you are up to with desired health and wellness goals. Lean on their support for you. Your tribe of one or more who knows what you are doing offers emotional support for you in good times and times of struggle!
7. Join A Local Meetup or Online Group.
Belonging to an online group of likeminded or attending a local meetup group is a great way for you to have fun while connecting and sharing your wins and setbacks. Being with others allows you to support and encourage as well as receiving support!
8. Create Goals and Tasks That Are Realistic for You.
Lofty goals make us feel good and can be very motivating. However, when just starting out it is good to set up something that you know you can and will be able to begin and stick with according to the season of life you are living. Down the road as you raise the bar on staying committed it will be easier for you to add more while being confident of your ability to do more!
9. Uncomplicate Your Plan.
This goes hand in hand with #8! Create a plan that gets to the heart of what it is you want with your health. Make this easy so you can gain traction and from here take more action!
10. Take the Driver’s Seat.
Are you in the passenger or driver’s seat of your life? A passenger typically looks for a tangible sign guiding them when to take action. This suspends any and all potential learning and growth.
Even if you are not super clear yet on what living healthy needs to look like and feel like to you, know that you really do know best. Taking that first step from passenger side to driver’s side in your life will yield abundance that otherwise wouldn’t have happened!
